VR Diary Entry 2

Dear Diary,

I was sitting on the edge of my mama’s bed as my grandpapa held my new baby brother in his hands. He looked so small compared to him!

It is cool to have my baby brother at home now and I love how cute and small he is. I’m much bigger than him but not as much as the adults. Mama and father are huge compared to him and so is grandpapa.

I like it when I see them holding him because their faces light up and they look really happy! Mama asked me if I was jealous one day but I shook my head no. I’m not jealous because I know that I was that little at one point too and I know they did the same things with me. We have a new member to our family so now there will be more love to spread around .

It is interesting how you start out so small and fragile and then you grow and grow so that you become big and strong, and can take care of yourself without as much help.
Mama says we all live together in the big circle of life; even people who aren’t in our family. There are lots of people in my family who are different ages and sizes and they all care about each other. The older ones protect the younger ones and keep them out of trouble.

When I see my small baby brother with his smooth pale skin in the big old hands of my grandpapa I get a feeling that I don’t know the word for. It’s like, seeing the beginning of a person’s life and near the finish line of another’s. It’s connected just like a round race track; the beginning is also the end.
